After a very questionable weather forecast, our interhouse athletics carnival went ahead with the sun coming out just in time for a 9am start.
Despite the wild weather in the early hours of the morning, our incredible sports and leadership team worked tirelessly to make sure everyone stayed warm and comfortable throughout the day, setting up fire pits, extra marquees, and indoor break spaces.
Students gave it their all as the Sharks, Eagles, and Falcons battled it out for the coveted house shield in a series of competitive and spirited track and field events. Congratulations to the Sharks, who ultimately took home the chocolates. A huge well done also to House Captains Emily and Monnie, Vice Captains Sydney and Aroha, and House Leader Jack Collins for their outstanding leadership and encouragement across the day.
Our Values Award recipients, who demonstrated Commitment, Empathy, and Integrity throughout the carnival were Ruby Brett, Scarlote Guenther, Lars Millier, Thomas Bragg, Isaac Dron, Lily Lucas, Seth Chandler, Will Cook, and Alexis Ireland. These students represented our school values with pride both on and off the track.
Congratulations to all students progressing through to the Wellington Championships, and to our Age Champions for their outstanding achievements.
