Yarram Secondary College had six students selected to represent the Gippsland Division at the state track and field championships at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park on Monday, the 21st of October. Lexi and Archie Francis had their speed legs on in their 100m and 200m sprits, where they ran great times. The celebration became even more remarkable with our girls under 17 relay team coming third in their 4 x 100m relay. We will need to check the record books, but this could be the first time Yarram Secondary College has medalled in this event (or any relay) at the state finals! We were hopeful as each of these girls are excellent athletes with serious speed. Congratulations to each of you; as a college, we are all so very proud of your outstanding performances. In addition, the college would also like to say thank you to our supportive parents for transporting, coaching and encouraging your children today. We also would like to note that Skye Hogan one of our senior students also qualified for this event in Discus but sadly was unable to compete due to Year 12 commitments. Congratulations again team. Look out 2025!
