The Interhouse Swimming sports held on Monday February 18th saw the staff and students have a great time both in and out of the water. Always a great day, the weather Gods shone down with warm weather on the cards.
The events were keenly contested with some fantastic results on the day. apart from the serious swimming there was a dance off between the houses, a “fashion parade”, the overs and unders race for disability students, a surfboard relay and of course the relays by the houses students against staff. Two records were broken; Mady Parry from the Sharks broke another record and now holds many of the freestyle records from every age group. Mady broke the 2 year old 20yrs female 50 freestyle record held previously by Sarah McDonald by over 1 second and Thom Mattern broke the 3 year old 17yrs male 50 freestyle, previously held by Kade Price-Handley, also by just over 1 sec. Coincidently, Kade’s brother Ty, who swam second also swam under the old time.
Age Group Champions were 13yrs Lilly Collins and Jarvis Sheedy, 14yrs Serena Savage and Luke Hunter, 15yrs Kirsty sheedy and Mitchell Knight, 16yrs Hazel Kerrison-Male and lochlan Sketcher, 17yrs Breanne Uber and Thomas Mattern, 20yrs Madison Parry and Angus McKerrel.
Final results for the day saw Falcons finish in 1st with 807 points, sharks 2nd 738 points and Eagles 3rd 600 points
Well done to all who attended on the day.
