Honouring Our ANZACS

On Friday and Saturday, YSC proudly paid its respects at a number of Anzac Day services, honouring those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

On Friday morning, Year 12 student Brock represented YSC at the Crossley House Anzac service, demonstrating outstanding maturity, kindness, and initiative. Throughout the morning, Brock went above and beyond, making a cup of tea for a resident, assisting with moving chairs, reading out an impromptu thank you, and taking the time to genuinely connect with those in attendance. Brock carried out each of these acts without hesitation, and it was even suggested he would be a wonderful addition to the lifestyles program. We are incredibly proud of the young man he is becoming. One of the photos captures a special moment of Brock alongside former students Taleigha (Class of 2020s) and Joan (Class of 1940s), highlighting the powerful connections across generations.

On Saturday, Principal Lyn Kerrison, along with School Captains Lexie Francis and Will Cook, attended the 11am Anzac Day service in Yarram, where they laid a wreath on behalf of Yarram Secondary College.

As a school community, we take pride in showing respect, gratitude, and reflection on Anzac Day, recognising the bravery and sacrifices made by so many for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Lest We Forget.
