Doing it for Dolly Day

Once again the staff and students got behind the worthy cause Do it for Dolly day.

“Do It For Dolly” is an annual campaign, a day dedicated to raising awareness about bullying and promoting kindness.  It’s an initiative to remember Dolly Everett, a young Australian girl who tragically took her life after enduring relentless bullying. The campaign encourages people to “Go Blue” by wearing blue clothing and decorating spaces with blue, as blue was Dolly’s favorite color.

  • Raising Awareness:The campaign aims to make bullying a widely discussed issue and encourage people to understand its impact on young people’s lives.
  • Promoting Kindness:It emphasizes the importance of kindness and empathy as a means to prevent bullying and create a safer environment for everyone.
  • Fundraising:Do It For Dolly Day also involves fundraising to support organizations like Dolly’s Dream, which provide resources and services to address bullying and support young people affected by it.
  • “Go Blue”:A common way to show support is to wear blue, as it was Dolly’s favorite color.
  • Taking Action:The campaign encourages people to take action, whether it’s reporting bullying, speaking out, or simply being kind and supportive.
