Last week our Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental Education students travelled to Wilsons Promontory for a fieldwork camp exploring their relationship with Australian environments. After arriving on Thursday, students jumped straight into a surf lesson before enjoying lunch and heading off on a hike to Sandy Point. The day finished with the climb up Mount Oberon, where students were rewarded with an incredible sunset over the Prom.
Friday morning began with a journal reflection, giving students time to think about how their experiences connected to their Outdoor Education key knowledge. To wrap up the trip, the group boarded a wilderness cruise around the coastline, where they were lucky enough to spot seals and other wildlife along the way. A great couple of days of hiking, surfing, wildlife spotting and exploring one of Australia’s most iconic national parks, right on Yarram’s doorstep.
