Congratulations Class of 2025!
What a year we have had, and still so much to celebrate. I am thrilled to announce our two top students for 2025 are William Pearson and Hector McAulay. William Pearson is our 2025 Dux. Will got an ATAR of 96.1 and is planning to complete a bachelor of Surveying Technology at the University of Southern Queensland. Hector McAulay achieved an ATAR of 91.6 and is planning to complete a Bachelor of Agriculture at Melbourne University. Hector was also our English Dux.
Our overall results included 18% of our VCE cohort being awarded an ATAR of 90 or above.
Two students achieved a study score of 40, ranking them in the top 9% of the state for their specific subject. Congratulations, Chloe Oakes, Art Making and Exhibiting (40) and William Pearson, Mathematical Methods (40). Year 11 student Lexie Francis proved that she will be a contender for next Years Dux with a study score of 39 for Outdoor Education (top 10% of the state), while Hector also achieved a study score of 38 in chemistry (top 14 % of the state). Our celebration does not stop with these extraordinary marks, an additional five students also achieved study scores of 36 and above in Biology, Specialist Mathematics, Outdoor and Environmental Studies and Physics, this places them in the top 20% of the state and represents 45% of our scored cohort. Thank you for travelling your high school years with Yarram Secondary College, we have loved watching you grow, develop and flourish.
In VCE Vocational Major (VM) the stories are equally as exciting. Khaedyn McKay is our 2026 VM Dux. Khaedyn will be pursuing an electrical apprenticeship in solar energy, and we wish him all the very best in his chosen career. We would also like to acknowledge Murray Davis who is our Foundation Mathematics Dux. Murray has worked hard all year committing to his studies across all disciplines. Murray also performed extremely well in VET Creative Digital Media and is hoping to enrol in a TAFE course specialising in video editing.
