Bollywood Comes to Yarram

Students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 12 got to experience a little bit of Bollywood today with a workshop featuring Shamita Siva. After learning basic hand and feet movements, the students then got to put it all together into a dance routine.

Shamita is a professional dancer, actor and teacher based in Naarm (Melbourne). She teaches various classes for adults and children, and facilitates workshops across Victoria. She is also the resident Dance & Movement workshop instructor at Arts Centre Melbourne ‘The Channel’, and works with school groups from prep through to year 9. She has also taught at Studio J Dance, Melbourne’s leading school of Indian dance styles, and is a performer with Sapphire Dance, one of Australia’s premier Bollywood troupes.
