As a part of their Unit 3/4 psychology, students are studying behaviourist approaches to learning, which includes operant conditioning as a three-phase process (antecedent, behaviour and consequence) involving reinforcement (positive and negative).
Today they were lucky enough to have Ms Duell and her dog Solly do a demonstration that highlighted the use of operant conditioning in their training. She also talked about her work as a volunteer for the K9 unit of Australian Search and Rescue
