Yr 9 Community Nesting Boxes

Another great and successful day with the community program at Manns beach. We had an opportunity to help promote the breeding of native wild birds at Ray Jenkins property with the use of the bird boxes that we had constructed. Ray has been working for the last 15 years to create a natural wet land that fills on the high tides. He also has recorded the nesting of some of the rarest birds in the world. The students learnt that Ray had planted particular salt bushes that will attract these special birds when breeding. All the students were shocked to see how one person can make such a big difference.
