Yr 8B science class is currently studying the systems of the body and Thursday 17th May they had the opportunity to dissect a sheep’s heart. The class found it difficult to cut into the thick muscular walls but eventually were all able to identifying the two chambers of the heart (atrium and ventricle) as well as the blood vessels that carry blood to and from the heart (veins and arteries).
Yr 8B were fortunate to have student teacher, and former YSC student Brydie Hurrell, teaching them these past 4 weeks as part of her RMIT teaching degree. Bryide has also spent time in the year 10 trade maths and 8A maths classes. Brydie is looking forward completing her teaching course this year and teaching close to home in the near future.
