On the 8th of August Year 8 students took a step back in time to celebrate the conclusion of their Medieval History Unit by hosting a Medieval feast. The students have been studying the Medieval period in relation to Europe for the past 7 weeks.
Prior to the day the students had chosen specialist areas of study to present at the Feast. The students who chose food were responsible for all the catering. Other students transformed the Hot House into a Castle Grande Hall for dining.
On the day there were entertainers, mock jousting demonstrations, ancient medicinal treatments and displays, swordsmanship exhibitions and battle re-enactments. Most importantly there was plenty to eat and drink, fine roast birds, pies, bread, lots of yummy roast potatoes, ale (ginger) and dessert.
