Year 7 Camp Day 1 – by Ruby Lane

Allambee is full of surprises! We were playing four way tug of war, chuck the chicken, and world’s greatest fan as soon as we got off the bus.

Today we were split into two groups, 7A and 7B with the 7/8 composite class. 7B and the composite class did the ‘initiative course’ which is based on problem solving, group work, trust and balance.

7A were sent on the hunt for containers full of little trinkets hidden around the entire camp. This activity was called Geo-Caching. Geo-Caching is a like a scavenger hunt, except you have to use a GPS to find the containers. The containers are hidden in places like; trees, the ground, logs, pipes and draws. The aim of the game is to get the most points by swapping the objects in your bag for an object worth higher points in the container.

Dinner was great! Potatoes, vegetables, meat and gravy! Lots of people went for seconds, and most people went up for the ice-cream.

All in all the first day of the year 7 Allambee camp of 2014 has been amazing, everyone has loved every minute of it and we’re sure there is more to come.
