The Vet Sport & Recreation students go to Alberton Primary School to teach the children minor games and sport. With 4 groups we all took turns on teaching a 20 minute lesson to the students aged prep to grade 6.
The various groups taught from basketball, tennis and minor games such as tunnel ball, poison ball and under over. It is a good chance to let the students interact with the older high school students. The lessons fit in with our unit in assisting an outdoor recreation program in our sport and recreation class.
We have been to two lessons and will be going again on Friday. On Friday we will change our activities to things such as netball, soccer, football and different minor games. We have all enjoyed the activities and some of us might consider being a sports or primary school teacher in the future.
