This week launched the beginning of the “Cows Create Careers Dairy Manufacturing Module” in VCE Food and Technology.
Offered by Dairy Australia to 5 secondary schools in the Gippsland Region, the project encourages students to learn about Australia’s dairy manufacturing industry and the career options within it, with a practical and interactive educational experience. What’s more, students are in with a chance to win prizes at the Student Presentation day, to be held in early June.
Over the course of a month, students will work in teams to produce a Dairy Newsletter, and a double-page dairy recipe, that they have researched, trialled and perfected.
During this time, students will also be involved with an industry advocate, from Fonterra, who will visit the school to share their knowledge with the students. In addition in late May, we will be visiting Fonterra in Darnum, to get a better understanding of Dairy manufacturing and processing.
Throughout the month, and as the project continues, we will share our progress with the YSC community.
