This Monday, November 25th, is White Ribbon Day.
White Ribbon is a male-led movement to end men’s violence against women in Australia. It is a non-profit organisation and Australia’s only national, male-led primary prevention campaign to end men’s violence against women. White Ribbon Australia is working to change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate men’s violence against women, by engaging boys and men to lead social change.
Several senior male students and male staff members at Yarram Secondary College will be leading by example on the day by wearing t-shirts supporting this important movement. An information booth will be set up at school on the day, white ribbons will be handed out and students will have the opportunity to ‘swear the oath’ in support of the White Ribbon.
