The Sound of Music

The  school was alive with the sound of music at the  annual music bbq and sign up night.  Last night saw a great turn up of parents and students, both secondary and primary.  Music coordinator, Linda Bowden talked parents through the benefits of the music program, including pointing out that “Scientists are more likely to win a Nobel Prize if they studied music”. Music staff Linda Bowden, Russ Praetz, Saul Stainer, John Rees and Don Cook were also introduced to the peole in attendance.   Highlights of the night included the awarding of the annual scholarships to Harry Smith and Mackenzie Walker, who receive a years free tuition and also the performances by Cainan Teo, Sam Stone and Prue Stark. Families then enjoyed a bbq cooked by Skewsy and Gary with delicious salads provided by the parents. The school loooks forward to a huge music program this year including, the school production in May, Annual Arts Showcase in October, Awards day in December as well as performances at local primary schools and many community events throughout the year.
