Year 7 students have been constructing timelines mapping out the main eras of the development of the flora and fauna of the Earth, and the migration of humans across the continents. For this project students had to work in groups of four. The students had to delegate roles and responsibilities, plan the scale and convert millions of years into centimetres and then plan with the other groups what scale to apply to the timeline.
Each group was given a specific era on which to focus their efforts. The detail and level of inquiry is very impressive, and for the majority of students the information that has been presented was previously unknown.
Due to the cohesive nature in which these groups have worked a very impressive piece of work has been created that all students can utilise in their future learning.
