Once again the Yarram Secondary College showcased their amazingly talented students at the annual music concert & art/tech exhibition on Wednesday night.
Parents and community members attended the 2 hour concert with many commenting on the high standard of singing, music and art, some of the best they have seen. The evening featured music from the choir, big band, year 7 band and singers, vocal ensemble, woodwind ensemble, year 8 band, VET music band, a piano solo from Jessica Fyffe, vocal duets by Holly and Marley Jonston, and Mackenzie Walker and Tayla Dwyer, a percussion duet with Adam Moore and Sam Stone and a vocal solo from Alex Bowden. Awards were presented to the outstanding music students for the year. Senior percussion- Adam Moore, Junior percussion-Bailey Barron, Brass-Chelsea Petterson, Woodwind-Rachel Sellings, Guitar-Dylan Jacobson & Seamus Doyle, Senior vocals Cainan Teo, keyboard-Owen Carrison, Big Band-Adam Moore, Choir-Mackenzie Walker, Encouragement Awards for Rock Band- Brad Farley, Ben Mattern, Jamie Stephens, Layton Sketcher, Encouragement Awards for vocals- Anna Rodaughan and Marley Jonston. Music Achievement Award- Holly Jonston and Samuel Thomas, special lighting award-Wyatt Kilgower. Primary Instrumental Program students and year 12 music students were also presented with certificates.
VCE art and vis com. works were also on display, as well as many other art and technology works too. The school is very lucky to have such dedicated staff who encourage the students to be their best, so they are a credit to themselves, their parents, peers and teachers.
