Senior School Report (May 15th, 2013)

First semester is drawing to a close, with only two and a half weeks till midyear exams.  All senior students were informed of this at our Sub-school Assembly and Miss Demaria emailed a copy of the senior exam time table to all senior students.

To help prepare students for the conclusion of Unit 1 and 3 a number of institutions offer lecture and work shop sessions.  A couple to keep your eye on are the Maths and Writers Workshops being offered at the Catholic College in Sale, supported by the Australian Catholic University (Tuesday 2 July). These workshops are free, lunch is provided, but booking is essential.  If you are interested please contact Michael Russo at  or on 9953 3609.

Also as part of our partnership with Monash University we have been given 50 fee tickets for lectures in Melbourne at LaTrobe University, Bundoora and Monash University, Clayton (Monday 1 – Wednesday 3 July).  These lectures normally cost $42 each.  If anyone is interested in booking a lecture for English, Further Maths, Health and Human Development, Maths Methods, Legal Studies, Physical Education, Chemistry, Psychology, Biology or Physics can they please contact the school ASAP and place an order with Lyn Kerrison.  These are revision lectures and very helpful with organising notes for the November examination period.

On the academic front Lewis McQueen, Holy Jonston and Nicole Hooper have had their work selected for exhibition at the Gippsland Art Gallery.  Lewis and Holly submitted environmental posters produced as part of their Year 12 Visual Communications class and Nicole submitted two photographic pieces based on exploring fear and motion (Year 12 Media).  We are very proud of these students for having their work accepted into FLOURISH an exhibition which features outstanding works of art produced by secondary students in the Wellington Shire. If you would like to attend the opening and awards evening it is on Friday 24 May at 6.00pm.
