I have been in my homestay for six days now, and I love every second of it. China is such a nice place. The children at school are so friendly, and they find my long hair both fascinating and hilarious.
School starts at 7:00AM and finishes at 5:00, so I am very tired. All the students are so hard working! They speak very good English, and I am learning some basic Mandarin. It is a very hard language to learn, as on word can mean several different things by the way it is pronounced.
During the evening, I go home with my host brother Star. His father works in sales, so most nights we go to dinner with clients or friends. I have tried so many new foods: eel, jellyfish, pigeon eggs, snails.
Today, Yarram and Changshu gave a presentation to the minister of teaching, students from Changshu and representatives from Australia. They were all so happy. Tomorrow, I spend the weekend with my host family. It will be great.
