Wellington Intermediate Volleyball Tournament

Last Friday, the Year 10 girls, Chelsea, Krystal, Stacey, Brydie, Emma, Mariah, Jess and Sami went to Morwell to compete in the Wellington Intermediate Volleyball Tournament. We convincingly defeated Sale College, Kurnai and Traralgon Collage. In the lead-up to the day, the girls practised three times a week, so they got to know each other very well. We come together on the day and beat the odds. The team progressed into the grand final but unfortunately played a very experienced Maffra Collage; who trained 3 times a week and were in academy. The game was tough and we came away with a brave loss. Highlights included Stacey’s ‘face-dig’ and Mariah’s chest shot on Brydie.

Last Friday the Year 11 senior boys, Corey, Tyler, Chris and Louis travelled to Traralgon to take on schools around the district in the game of tennis, including Victorian number 1 champion David Hough from Lavalla in which Tyler lost to 21 to 15. All the rest also lost their singles and doubles game. The next school they played against was Sale College which were not as talented and both Tyler and Corey won their singles. All the boys also won their doubles games against this school. Traralgon College was the next and last school to play. All the boys won their singles games and doubles was not needed to be played.
