On December 11, Year 10 Foundation Personal Development class went to Gelliondale nursery. We learnt how Gelliondale nursery works. Katherine and Heather took us on a tour and we saw a huge glasshouse and a shed that was worth eleven million dollars.
The nursery grows seven million pine trees every year and they also grow gum trees and blackwood trees. They grow three million gum trees each year. The nursery employs one hundred people at busy times and people rotate jobs so that they don’t get bored.
We saw how they water the plants. It was really interesting.
At the end we each got one icy pole. It was a great day.
