Emmas farm work

On Thursday 30th of August Emma Foat had the opportunity to go to Trent and Belinda Crawfords focus farm as part of her scholarship through the Yarram AB Centre. What she loved about the day was that it was show casing that big isn’t always better! That you can be a small farm and be profitable from it. The day was very informative for me as I don’t have a big dairy background. It taught me a lot about how breeding has a big influence on the production of milk and that it can make a big difference on your herds ability to produce better quality milk.  It was nice to meet new people and hear their opinion on farming and hear what they have done on their farms. Emma said “This has opened my eyes further more towards job aspects in the farming industry and how to achieve them”

“I would like to thank Linda De Win from the Yarram Artificial Breeders Centre for picking me up and bring me back to school and for sharing her thoughts on farming”
