On February 17th we left at 9 and went to Traralgon for the day to play cricket. Since we didn’t have a new ball we bought one on the way.                                                                                                           In the first game against Kurnai we won the toss and our captain Daniel elected to bat first. While a few early wickets got us off to a sub-par start, a good partnership from Daniel & James and good running between wickets towards the end got us to a solid total of 54. As the other team went into bat, many swing-and-misses and accurate bowling from all bowlers proved to be the key to restricting the opponents to just 40 runs, giving us the win.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     In the second game we bowled first, and got off to another good start in the field with more early wickets. James put on a catching clinic and Harley was great behind the stumps, which proved that catches do indeed win matches. After the shortened 8 overs (because we were running late), we held Traralgon College to just 17 runs. Jack and Daniel did great opening the batting and passed the total in less than 3 overs. To finish up we gave some of the people that didn’t get a bat in the 2 games a chance to have a go.

On the way home we stopped off  for a snack/late lunch and ended up getting back to school at around 3. Since we won both games, we’re off to the next level.                                                                 By Andrew
