On Friday, 44 Year 11 and 12 students were very fortunate to attend a travelling exhibition in Sale titled ‘Courage to Care’. The exhibition was based on the true stories of those who have had the courage to care and put others first during difficult times, particularly those who showed bravery during the Holocaust.
The students heard from Herb, an 86 year Holocaust survivor originally from Austria, whose story was amazing – his family had fled their home for Brussels, where they were hidden in a loft and avoided capture by a Gestapo who found them hiding but was only interested in their valuables.
Students were split into small groups where they discussed issues around racial intolerance and bullying and how one person can make a big difference in the world.
Overall, a very interesting and educational day for all!
