Cambodia Day 8

The trip to Kulen Mounatin was long and bumpy but everyone agreed that it was worth it! First, we stopped to view thousands of stone carvings in the river bed before heading further up the mountain to a Buddhist Pagoda.  Here we were able to view an 8 meter long reclining Buddha that had been carved out of sandstone and Holly and Lauren chose to receive a blessing in the temple. After visiting the temple we headed to the waterfall. It truly was a breathtaking site. The waterfall was about 20 meters tall and the locals say that the water is holy. People come to the waterfall to drink and or bathe in the water. Naturally while we were there, in the picturesque setting we jumped at the chance of taking a dip in the cool water.

Upon our return we had time for a quick change, before heading to the Cambodian Acrobatic Circus. The talented performers entertained us with a production that included music, humour and of, course feats of strength and flexibility. The evening was a great end to our final night in Siem Reap. Tomorrow we will head off nice and early for the Cambodian Elephant sanctuary.
