Once again the Yarram Secondary College participated in the annual ANZAC day commemorations. At 5.30am a number of students and staff attended the dawn service at Port Albert. Linda Bowden and the vocal group sang both “God Save the Queen” and “Advance Australia Fair”, while Emerald and Justice Watson joined their mum, June, in singing the National Anthem of New Zealand.
Our drummers lead by Saul Stainer, lead the march at the 11am service to the Regent. After the ceremony in the theatre, school captains, Stacey Coulthard and Rory Mullan laid a wreath in memory of the fallen.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
Lest We Forget
