This week we welcomed 19 students and 2 teachers from Changshu Foreign Language Middle School for a week of cultural exchange. Our visitors were “Welcomed to the Country” by the clients from Wulgunggo Ngalu Learning Place with a traditional smoking ceremony, then treated to an Aussie morning tea. Students have participated in truly Australian classes, like ANZAC biscuit making, an Aussie Slang, football, eaten “emu eyes”, got up close and personal with Aussie wildlife, visited a farm and been to the beach.
The cultural enrichment program started in 2012 and the two school have made the trip in alternate years.
It was a wonderful summer vacation. We have acquired a special experience in Yarram. Every day is full of surprises, every day is interesting. We’ll never forget Australia football, charming beach and your sincerity. Thank you for your hospitality!
